"Sonic Drive-In And Their New Commercials":

Sonic Drive-In has been known for their commercials over the years which are about various groups of two people in a car having a conversation. They are waiting for their food, or they are eating their food. The conversations are supposed to be very funny.

Unfortunately, these commercials have ended. The last commercial of the format has a carhop towards the end of the commercial.

After that, there is a completely new type of commercials, where there are a bunch of carhops skating.

And I am really wondering... WHERE, if anyplace at all, do the carhops skate?! Isn't this false advertising?! I do not think there are ANY Sonic Drive-Ins where the carhops skate.

  1. Hello, I'm Sonic's Director of External Communications. The "two guys" campaign has not ended, we have expanded our creative executions to use real Carhops from real Sonic Drive-Ins as part of our overall advertising strategy.

More than half of the 3,500 Sonic Drive-Ins coast to coast have Carhops who skate. You may not see one every time you go to Sonic, but there are many opportunities for you to find skating Carhops at Sonic. The Carhops in the new spots are real Carhops, two are from the Dallas area and two are from the Austin area. Our ad agency hosted auditions for Carhops to be part of the new campaign.

I'm glad you enjoy Pete & TJ. They'll be back soon.
